Yapton Beerex 2010

The 2010 Yapton Beerex — our 21st! — will take place from Friday, May 14, 2010 to Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Yapton Village Hall: this is situated on the B2233, 1.6 miles south east of Barnham railway station where all trains stop. The nearest bus stop is for the Stagecoach 700 service, 200 yards across the green at Sparks Corner. (See the map at the bottom of the page for better directions.)

We generally have over 65 beers from small, independent breweries (including plenty of the golden, hoppy beers that so many people love). There will also be a range of bottled beers, both British and imported, and ciders/perries. After we sold out of cider and perry in record time last year, despite increasing our order, we’ll be further increasing it to 4 ciders and 3 perries.

Opening hours are:

  • Friday: 6pm to 11pm
  • Saturday: 11am to 3pm, 6pm to 11pm
  • Sunday: 12pm to 3pm

Tickets for Friday and Saturday sessions are £5 each. There are no advance tickets for Sundays — just turn up and pay £1 to cover the cost of the glass (there should be at least 25 beers still on). Tickets will be available on the door for all sessions, but the Saturday lunchtime session is usually sold out, so we advise the advance purchase of tickets for this session. However, in the event of fine weather on this session, many customers sit on the grass outside, and we can admit more people at the door.

To book, please send an SAE and a cheque payable to Western Sussex CAMRA to Western Sussex CAMRA, 22 Kingsmead Road, Middleton on Sea, PO22 6NG. (No personal callers, please.) Don’t forget to say which sessions you want tickets for!

You can also buy tickets over the bar at the Selden Arms in Worthing, the Four Chesnuts in Chichester, and the Maypole Inn in Yapton.

Finally, for those who don’t know how to get there, here’s a map. A vintage bus service runs from Barnham to the village hall during the Saturday lunchtime session.
