Yapton Beerex 2008

The 2008 Yapton Beerex will take place from Friday, May 16, 2008 to Sunday, May 18, 2008, in Yapton Village Hall. Contrary to what the posters say, it’s actually our 19th festival. (Naturally, this didn’t get spotted until all the posters were printed!) Also, those of you who have your tickets might notice the wrong dates: Friday is actually the 16th and Saturday is actually the 17th. The day, not the date printed on the ticket is the day your ticket is for. Friday’s tickets are yellow, Saturday lunchtime tickets are blue and Saturday evening tickets are green. Those responsible (ie me) will be shot…

We generally have over 65 beers from small, independent breweries (including plenty of the golden, hoppy beers that so many people love). There’s also a range of bottled beers, both British and imported, and four ciders/perries. Here’s the beer list.

Opening hours are:

  • Friday: 6pm to 11pm
  • Saturday: 11am to 3pm, 6pm to 11pm
  • Sunday: 12pm to 3pm, unless the beer runs out first!

Tickets for Friday and Saturday sessions are £5 each. There are no advance tickets for Sundays — just turn up and pay £1 to cover the cost of the glass. The Saturday lunchtime session is very popular — please book well in advance! Tickets are now available.

To book, please send an SAE and a cheque payable to “Western Sussex CAMRA” to Yapton Beerex Tickets, Maypole Inn, Maypole Lane, Yapton, BN18 0DP. Don’t forget to say which sessions you want tickets for! (You can also buy tickets over the bar at the Maypole, and at the Selden Arms in Worthing)

Finally, for those who don’t know how to get there, here’s a map. A vintage bus service runs from Barnham to the village hall during the Saturday lunchtime session.
