Ballards Brewery Charity Walk

Dec 4, 2016

The brewery, at Nyewood near Midhurst, will be open from 10:00 onwards for the sale of beer, a portion of the profits from which will be donated to a local charity. There will also be snacks available plus, if we are lucky, entertainment in the brewery yard.

Many of Ballard’s cask beers will be on sale, including this year’s strong Christmas special, the latest in a distinguished series stretching back to the 90s. We will not know its name until the day of the walk.

Having drunk our fill at the brewery, most of us will set off to walk across lovely countryside to visit a few of the excellent country pubs in the area. It is up to the individual how far you want to walk — there are 3 or 4 pubs you can reasonably get to before the light starts to fade.

As Nyewood is not an easy place to reach on a Sunday without driving, CAMRA has organised a bus to get us there and back. The bus will pick up from the following points along the coast at the times shown.

Pickup times are:

0810 Worthing station
0845 Littlehampton station
0900 End of Maypole Lane, Yapton
0905 Barnham station
0925 Chichester station (south side, by car park and ticket machines)

At the end of the afternoon the bus will pick up from several of the pubs at pre-arranged times and, after stopping for further refreshment en route, we will return home, dropping off at the same points in reverse.

Seats on the bus are strictly limited and are only available by advance ticket purchase at a price of £11 per seat from Pete Brown — call him on 01243 552908 or email him.

For mail order, please send a cheque made out to P Brown, and an SAE, to:

2 Elm Grove South
PO22 0EL
