Ballards Walk

CAMRA Western Sussex Branch will as usual be organising a bus to & from the Ballards Brewery Walk, picking up as follows:

Worthing Station: 08:10
Littlehampton Station: 08:45
Yapton, Maypole Lane: 09:00
Barnham Station: 09:05
Chichester Station (south side): 09:25

We hope to be at Ballards Brewery at about 10:15, when a range of draught and bottled beers and merchandise will be on sale, with money being raised for a local charity. There will be music, and burgers/bacon sandwiches will be available to buy on site.

The new winter beer in the “Old Bounder” series will be launched at the event; its name will be secret until the launch.

Having had a few beers at the brewery, we will set off walking (either by country lane or across country) to any or all of several country pubs where more Ballards and other breweries’ beers will be available.

Please note that, for those who are unable to walk far, there will be an option to ride on the bus from the brewery to Elsted for a session at the Three Horseshoes, and then on to Rogate with the others. If the White Hart at South Harting is open, there will be an option to walk there from the brewery and be collected by the bus for onward travel to Elsted. Update: I’m informed that the White Hart should reopen a few days before the walk.

Later in the afternoon the bus will pick up from the pubs and, after a session on Harveys beers at the White Horse, Rogate, we will head home via the Coach & Horses, Compton.

The bus will return via the above pick-up points in reverse; ETA at Chichester is around 19:30.

Please note the walk is an entirely free event; there is no entry fee or sponsorship to arrange — all you have to do is get there and buy the beer!

Tickets for our bus are available now at £11 per seat, on a strictly first come first served basis. Please either see Pete Brown at a branch meeting with cash, or send a cheque (made out to P Brown) and SAE to:

2 Elm Grove South
Barnham
PO22 0EL

If you have any questions, please contact Pete on (01243) 552908.

Please note: those holding tickets will have priority for seats on the day!
