We’re delighted to announce that the Wilkes Head, Eastergate, has been voted Pub of the Year for 2012 by an overwhelming majority.

The LocAle-accredited, two-bar Wilkes Head sells Adnams Bitter as its regular beer, with up to three guests. Food is available in a separate dining area, and there’s a large beer garden.

We’ll be presenting the award on March 24 at 1pm, so why not join us then? Stagecoach bus route 66 stops at the end of Church Road (get off near the petrol station/Elmtree Stores) or it’s about a 20 minute walk from Barnham station: turn left out of the station, then turn left into Church Road.

Please note that the Bell, Chichester, was listed in an earlier revision of this article. This was an error: the pub has not asked to be a member of LocAle, though they do frequently have a local beer available.

The Four Chesnuts in Chichester will be having a beer festival from Feb 24–26.

Unfortunately I don’t have any more details at the moment; I’ll update this article when I get them.

The Hollycombe Steam Museum in Liphook will be running a beer festival from July 27–29, in order to raise money for restoration of their fairground rides and steam trains.
