Pages with Google Maps (currently only the Yapton Beerex pages) may still set cookies, but these are essential for the maps to display.

We’ve also updated the branch contact email address, as it changed recently. Apologies to anybody who’s tried emailing him recently and got no answer — you may want to resend your message to the correct address :)

No word on the ciders until I can get to Middle Farm and see what they have :)

UPDATE: The beer list is now final, barring delivery failures, and has the ciders and perries listed as well.

I also don’t know why the calendar has started putting Tuesday events under Sunday! The events that I entered for April yesterday were actually May’s events — which explains why dates that should have been Tuesday were showing as Sunday!

The Lifeboat in Selsey is having a festival with about 10 beers, as well as a barbecue. Flash Company, a three piece band playing mainly Irish, Scottish and yee-haw music with a kick, will be playing on the Saturday night.  The festival runs Saturday and Sunday.

The Wilkes Head in Eastergate (nearest station: Barnham) is planning 21 beers — including Rudgate Ruby Mild, the current Champion Beer of Britain — plus Broadoak cider and perry. Free entry between midday and 6pm on Friday and Saturday, with tickets for the evening sessions and Sunday afternoon at £5 each, or £10 for a weekend ticket. The paid sessions also have live music: the Sussex Halves on Friday evening, the Rife on Saturday evening and traditional jazz and country on Sunday afternoon.

The Maypole in Yapton looks to be having a festival in mid-October — more details when we get them…

Due to a certain organisation (which had, perhaps, better remain nameless for now) accessing CAMRA websites the length and breadth of the land, copying any email addresses they can find, and adding these email addresses to a mailing list without the permission of the recipients, I’ve changed these pages to reflect the situation:

These pages are maintained by volunteers, using their own resources and mostly at their own expense. Any email addresses published go to private systems, not CAMRA systems, even if the address ends with @westernsussexcamra.org.uk.

By accessing these pages, you agree that email addresses found on this site are private, non-business email addresses (unless explicitly noted as otherwise) and you agree that you will not send unsolicited advertising, sign them up to mailing lists, or otherwise treat these addresses as anything other than Personal Data as defined in the Data Protection Act, and thus requiring specific opt-in for business mailings.!

This means this site will be offline from about 10:30pm on Thursday until some time on Friday; hopefully we should be back by 9am, but there’s always a chance it may take a bit longer than that…

Also not quite sure why the site randomly defaults back to the default template. This, apparently, is progress. (Edit: fixed the templates, anyway — by renaming our custom one as “default”!)

…and the diary entries are now working again.

You might have noticed the spiffy new theme, based on Psalm 8 by Joni. The header picture was from our last Bus Cruise, and taken outside the Royal Oak at Friday Street. It was less orange in real life, though…

Most of the site should be working as before — the subscribe buttons at the bottom right have gone, but I don’t think anybody ever actually used them :)

It’s the Great British Beer Festival next week — I’ll be up there, and hopefully will have time to post the Champion Beer of Britain winners on Tuesday.

Update: looks like this is more work than I thought: the site’s theme breaks in the new software. So expect a spiffy new design as well…
